But we all, with unveiled face, Beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
Are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, Just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18
When you read the Word of God, you are looking into the mirror of God. The verse above tells us that what you see in the mirror of God as you “look” (study the Word), is the glory of God. It means that as you behold the glory of God you are changed into the glory that you see in the Word.
The Word of God mirrors you. It shows you your identity, your origin, and your rich heritage in Jesus Christ. When I minister these truths I always give people the example that we look into the bathroom mirror every day and all we ever see is what is wrong (with our appearance). Well according to God’s Word, there is a lot more right about you than there is wrong!
I get so blessed to teach the Word of God and encourage the people to look into the Word of God (a mirror), so they can see themselves in the Word, know who they are, as well as their authority and abilities in Christ.
The person who comes to church thinking they are unworthy and undeserving of God’s love suddenly sees that they are loved by God. The one who has been taught that they are a condemned sinner suddenly discovers that they have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. That’s the power of God’s Word; not only does it show you who you are, it also imparts to you the ability, the enabling grace, to live accordingly.
See yourself the way God sees you in his Word, and act accordingly. The Word says you are the righteousness of God-accept it and live it.
Keep reading the Word, keep studying the Word and allow the Word of God to transform you. Amen?
Blessings
